Make sure tha tyou're working in resolutions high enough to allow the text to be rasterized smoothly. Resolution effect is dependent on the dimensions of the picture, but and 11x14 at 250dpi for example should yeild adequate results.

Also, is the problem occuring with all your fonts, or just Arial and Times New Roman? If it's jus tthose to fonts then I suppose you could try to reinstall them or soemthing. If it's occuring with all your fonts then it may be your resolution settings after all. The only other thing I can think of is that photoshop may just be having an 'issue'...I've run into one issue where if I click on certain areas of soe images with the magic want tool, it gives me a program error.

PS, if you can get a hold of Illustrator, transfer the file there and try using it for the text...or try using ImageReady...

Good Luck!

Fuzzy, or ugly? Which is it? Fuzzy is a technical issue, ugly means choose a font you like (duhh!)

Photoshop is a pixel based program, so the RESOLUTION of your document will have a huge effect on the printed image quality. If you are designing at 72 dpi (web resolution) then of course the type is going to look fuzzy when you print it.

You need to start a new document and set the resolution to at least 300 dpi to not have fuzzy text.

Or, use Adobe Illustrator.
