I'm following a tutorial to learn how to vector an image and I think I have a newer version of photoshop than the tutorial. It is telling me to :
"Right-Click on your body/skin layer and choose "Select Layer Transparency". Go Select %26gt; Inverse.
Select the photo layer directly above it and hit delete"
But when I right click on the layer there is no option to 'select layer transparency'??? So is it something to do with the blending modes? Anyone who uses photshop, please help its so frustrating, I'm learning how to use it all as I go!!
Thanks

Vector isn't something you do to an image, it's a type of image. Photoshop works with raster images. You need Illustrator to work with vector images.
Anyway, to select the layer transparency in CS3 just hold down the Control key in Windows or the Command key in OS X and click the layer thumbnail (the picture to the left of the layer name).

download the free trial for adobe illustrator for doing vector design and converting images to scalable vector graphics. or you could download inkscape which is a free open source version of illustrator, i use inkscape for designing and vector stuff, good for art too.
